Sika

Her name is Sika. That’s what everyone on the team calls her. The name on her birth certificate is Amewusika Sedzro. Sika is a co-founder and the Chief Executive Officer here at Uncut Lab. She leads the sales, business development, and marketing efforts of the company. She is also a dried mango lover, a mother, and avid traveler. Sika holds a Liberal Arts Degree from Hampshire College and a Master of Science in Urban Planning from Columbia University. She also has a micro Master of Arts in Entrepreneurship from the University of Pennsylvania's Wharton School. With over 18 years of experience in workforce development, economic development, and urban planning, Sika witnessed how main street businesses were being severely underserved by the tech community. Sika has a decade of experience working with main street businesses, and therefore, she brings knowledge of their unique challenges to the team. As the least technical person on the team––everyone else has an engineering background, computer science, or technology degree––Sika is a bridge, helping distill complex tech concepts into simple terms. Sika prides herself on being able to talk about technology concepts in plain English.By the way, you should definitely ask Sika what her name means if you get a chance to talk to her.
